April 9, TEB Departure Routing Request – Heavy Southbound Volume
Good morning,
I would like to start with some positive news—at this time, it does not appear that we will have a SWAP event today.
However, I am reaching out to request assistance from TEB users. We are expecting a very heavy departure push today, not only out of TEB but across the NY District as a whole.
To help manage this volume, I am asking that aircraft planning southbound departures consider filing routes that avoid the WHITE departure gate. Specifically, please look at routing via LANNA, PARKE, and, if deep water capable, DIXIE.
Utilizing these alternate departure gates will help mitigate congestion and reduce the likelihood of southbound departure restrictions, allowing for a more efficient flow of traffic out of TEB. Filing appropriate routes in advance will also minimize the need for reroutes once a clearance is issued.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation during these high-volume operations.
