Possible SWAP Event Mar 26, 2026
Good morning,
Current weather forecasts indicate the potential for a SWAP event later today into the evening hours. Weather impacts are expected to begin around the 2000–2100Z timeframe, with a strong possibility of affecting the northern departure gates.
All users are asked to plan accordingly by reviewing the most up-to-date weather information and NOTAMs. As always, your assistance in providing timely and accurate PIREPs is greatly appreciated and helps support safe and efficient operations.
From the tower perspective, we will make every effort to accommodate preferred routes; however, weather conditions will ultimately dictate what is available. If low-level routes become available, we will communicate that information as soon as possible.
We also ask that all FBOs keep the tower informed of any anticipated ramp congestion or gridlock situations, particularly if aircraft are unable to move due to weather-related restrictions.
In addition to the forecasted impacts on the northern departure gates, we are also expecting heavy southbound traffic throughout the district. This may result in increased in-trail restrictions and the potential for GDPs for southbound departures.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and communication during these events.
